Methodology
Explainable estimates built from shipment facts.
Tamkora evaluates the HTS number, origin, entry date, customs value, trade-program claims, and product-specific facts against versioned tariff rulebooks.
What the estimate uses
The simulator starts with the HTS general rate and evaluates the supported Section 301 and Section 232 programs independently. When a legal path depends on additional information, the interface asks only for facts relevant to the surviving candidates.
What may remain unresolved
Specific and compound base rates may require an ad valorem equivalent. Some duties apply only to metal or non-U.S. content and need value allocation that this version does not calculate. Chapter 98 value effects, split entry lines, MPF, HMF, and full landed cost are outside the current estimate.
Sources and effective dates
The decision result provides source links and effective dates for the selected or open tariff paths. Tamkora retains versioned rulebooks and archived official CBP source material so the result can explain which rules were evaluated.
Why review may be necessary
Classification, origin, product use, metal content, exclusions, and trade-program qualification can depend on records beyond the facts entered into the simulator. A warning means the known subtotal is incomplete or a relevant fact still needs verification.
